EXCLUSIVE: Anuj Rastogi – The Dark Knight – Why So Serious (Remix)

One evening with a few spare hours, a crazy idea, some video footage later…

The result …. A cracking remix by Anuj Rastogi (OMNESIA) of Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard‘s original composition “Why So Serious” for the film The Dark Knight.

A brilliant dubstep mashup with Indian elements and a great video too!

Ever since I can remember I been a fan huge fan of film scores. Be it

Lord of the Rings, The Last Samurai, SAW, The Matrix, Shawshank Redemption etc.

Something behind the intelligence of this type music which has the ability and strength to take you on a sound driven journey and push your emotions to different boundaries.

The other day I was introduced to Zack Hemsey by a Producer/Director/Editor friend Vishesh Sharma based in NYC …

Zack Hemsey is an American composer and music producer, best known for producing and composing music for film trailers. One notable piece was is his work on ‘Trailer 3‘ for the 2010 movie Inception which included his composed piece ‘Mind Heist‘.

It is a common misconception[2] that the piece for this trailer was composed by Hans Zimmer because he composed the offical score for the movie itself. Hemsey has also worked on trailer scores for The Town, Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood. He has also worked on a large number of television commercials and has made his own studio albums.

Mind Heist‘ is filled with thrumming, pulsating strings and awe-inspiring crescendos: matching perfectly the feel and look of the film!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do:

On that note. I must share one more video with you – taken on the premier of INCEPTION.

This is an excerpt from a live performance at the Inception premiere in Hollywood. The track is “Time” from the Inception soundtrack. Hans Zimmer (piano) and Johnny Marr (guitar). Enjoy. PS: If you want to see the whole performance go to: www.ustream.tv/inceptionpremiere
